K. Bain Speaks at CMS Public Safety Summit

Leaders of New York City Crisis Management system gathered recently to dialogue on the state of public safety in New York. The forum is designed to engage in conversation and dialogue around recorded successes and challenges of public safety amongst all CMS groups and to share ideas on best practices and explore areas for improvement in service delivery to communities. Speaking at the Summit, K. Bain expressed his frustration at forging unity amongst CMS leadership despite his pioneering role as a co-
architect of the CMS. Bain emphasized that the advocacy for public safety should be a cohesive and mutually inclusive commitment of all leaders and not a platform for internal struggle for dominance or for any group to be seen as a “standard of success”. He however emphasizes the need for collaboration and partnership among groups and leaders with each identifying their areas of strength and expertise in public safety initiatives.
