Enhancing Community Safety: CCD Joins AAF and NVP for joint De-Escalation Training

In response to the rise in assaults and bias incidents in our beloved city, Community Capacity Developments (CCD) actively participated in a crucial initiative organized by the Asian American Federation (AAF) and Nonviolent Peaceforce (NVP). With a shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our community, the event, titled “Protecting Ourselves & Our Communities,” offered a valuable opportunity for in-person safety training to community members.

  • Addressing the Urgency:

The wave of assaults and bias incidents in New York City against the Asian community, has ignited a collective call to action. AAF and NVP recognized the pressing need to empower individuals with practical tools and knowledge to navigate their surroundings safely. In collaboration with these esteemed organizations, CCD took part of this solution-oriented approach.

  • Event Details:

The training provided a hands-on experience in de-escalation techniques and situational awareness. Participants gained valuable insights into staying alert in their surroundings and defusing potentially dangerous situations. The training wasn’t just about self-protection; it was a communal effort to foster a sense of collective responsibility, ensuring the safety and security of every individual within our diverse community.

  • CCD’s Involvement:

As advocates for community well-being and empowerment, CCD wholeheartedly embraced the opportunity to contribute to this essential initiative. Our participation reflects our dedication to fostering a safe and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. It is imperative for our communities to come together, share knowledge, and collectively address challenges.

“Protecting Ourselves & Our Communities” was more than a training event—it was a statement of unity and resilience. As we move forward, CCD reaffirms its commitment to actively engage in initiatives that empower and safeguard our community. Together with AAF and NVP, we stand strong in the pursuit of a safer, more inclusive New York City.
